The Vinton Dogwood Festival, now heading into its 62nd year, is the pre-eminent annual event for the Town of Vinton and the Roanoke Valley. As a nonprofit, community-focused organization, the Vinton Dogwood Festival provides free family entertainment for the community while promoting Vinton and Roanoke Valley businesses.
The festival opens with a Carnival Midway on Wednesday, April 26, providing entertainment for kids and adults alike. Cole Shows Amusement Company, Inc. will be returning as the carnival midway supplier for 2017 with FREE gate admission every day (carnival rides, games, concessions vary in price), and even a Pay-One-Price-Ride-All-Night event on Wednesday, April 26th . Best of all, live entertainment is held nightly on the Main Stage.
Dogwood Saturday, April 29th, features a 5K run/walk, craft, food and retail vendors, entertainment stages, a free Kids' Zone, the crowning of the Vinton Dogwood queen and much more. The annual Dogwood Festival Parade steps-off at 2:30 p.m. at the Vinton War Memorial, and the Carnival Midway stays open until 11 p.m. with live entertainment provided by local favorites The Kings on the Main Stage.
